OFM seems to always have something “in the works”. Will OFM be any introducing any new products soon?
Yes! OFM is excited to announce the availability of X5 — the Space-Saving Steel Shelving System. We feel that X5 will become a very popular system for commercial and industrial storage. It will be available in the US exclusively through OFM.

What makes X5 different from standard wire shelving?
The primary difference is that X5 uses a patented track system to greatly increase the available storage area. The X5 track system allows you to essentially convert aisle space into usable storage area. When X5 is installed, you simply move the shelves on the tracks to access all parts of each shelf.

Can X5 be used for heavy items?
Yes. X5 shelves support up to 800 pounds per shelf.

How many shelves are in each X5 unit?
The basic X5 unit comes with four shelves. The Starter Kit comes with five units, and Add-On units are available with 2 and 3 additional units. X5 units can be assembled with more shelves than four, however, by purchasing additional shelves as an accessory.

Do I need to permanently attach tracks to my floor to use X5?
No, the X5 tracks are not mounted or affixed to the floor. They can be used on any smooth, level surface without attaching them in any way.

Do X5 shelves require the tracks to be used?
No, X5 can be also be used without tracks. Adjustable glides are included, for using X5 as a non-movable wire shelf. Or, optional standard casters convert the X5 shelves into fully mobile units. Because X5 can be easily assembled and disassembled, these options make it easy to customize and rearrange your setup as needed.

Are different shelf sizes and X5 accessories also available?
Yes, X5 shelves are available in 4 different widths, 2 heights, and 2 depths. The 18" and 24" depths can be used on the same track to accommodate your items. Accessories include additional shelves, side and back plates, racks, dividers to prevent stored items from shifting, clear plastic shelf inserts to create a solid surface; and label holders.

What kind of business would be most interested in X5?
Any business or organization that wants to make more efficient use of their storage space. Regardless of the size of their existing storage area, any business, organization, school, or other institution that stores items — temporarily or permanently — can make use of X5.
